Edson Breedy Athletics is a welcoming place to train, and that includes people who don’t always feel at home in a typical gym. Plenty of our members are kids and adults who are neurodiverse, and our coaches meet everyone where they are, at their own pace.

Founder Dr. Edson Breedy is a doctor and lifelong martial artist, so training here is structured, patient, and supportive by design. For a lot of people with ADHD or autism, that structure is exactly what makes movement finally click.

Why structured training helps

Martial arts gives the day a clear pattern to follow, and it rewards focus in short, achievable steps. Over time, showing up and practising on purpose builds real focus, coordination, and confidence that carry into school, work, and home.

Just as important, it’s genuinely fun. You’re learning a real skill while getting a great workout, surrounded by people who are there to support each other.

A supportive, judgment-free space

Routine, repetition, and a predictable class structure make training feel safe. Progress is measured against your own previous self, so there’s no pressure to keep up with anyone else. You don’t need to be fit, coordinated, or confident to start. You just need to show up, and we’ll take it from there.

This works for kids (see kids martial arts) and adults alike, and many parents train right alongside their children — see family martial arts.
