Deepening Connection

Yoga cultivates a deeper connection with your body, increasing awareness of physical sensations, limitations, and potential. This enhanced body awareness can improve posture, movement patterns, and overall physical health.

Enhancing Range of Motion

Yoga postures gently stretch and lengthen muscles, increasing flexibility and range of motion. This can improve posture, reduce muscle stiffness, and prevent injuries.

Cultivating Inner Peace

Yoga encourages present moment awareness, enhancing focus, concentration, and mental clarity. This can reduce anxiety, improve emotional regulation, and promote a sense of inner peace.

Building Core Stability

Yoga poses build strength throughout the body, particularly in the core, legs, and arms. Improved balance and stability enhance physical function and reduce the risk of falls.

Finding Calm

Yoga’s emphasis on deep breathing and mindfulness helps calm the nervous system and reduce stress. Regular practice promotes relaxation, improves sleep, and enhances overall well-being.

Recovery isn’t
passive. It’s
trained.

Most people who train hard don’t recover hard. They simply stop — and wonder why progress stalls, why injuries accumulate, why they feel perpetually tired. Yoga at EBA treats recovery as a practice: deliberate, structured, and as important as any strength session.

Saturday mornings are the right time for this. The week is done. The body has accumulated training stress, work stress, and the general weight of living. One hour of intentional movement and breath resets the nervous system for the week ahead.

The parasympathetic reset: Controlled breathing (pranayama) directly stimulates the vagus nerve, shifting the autonomic nervous system from sympathetic (fight-or-flight) to parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) dominance. Chronic stress keeps the body in sympathetic overdrive. A regular yoga practice physically counteracts this — not metaphorically, but measurably.

An hour that
pays back all week.

01
Nervous system recoveryYoga shifts your autonomic state from stress to restoration. The effect is measurable in heart rate variability within a single session.
02
Mobility and tissue healthSustained holds improve range of motion and tissue quality in ways that static stretching alone doesn’t. Joints that move well, last longer.
03
Breath controlPranayama practice builds conscious control over your respiratory system — a transferable skill that reduces anxiety and improves performance in all other disciplines.
04
Mindful presenceYoga trains the attentional system — the ability to be where you are. This translates directly to focus, emotional regulation, and quality of life.

One hour.
Every layer.

Each Saturday session moves through a complete arc — from activation through peak effort to deep restoration. No part is skipped. No part is rushed.

01

Breath and centring

Every session opens with breath awareness — transitioning from the noise of the week into the quiet of the mat. This shift is itself a skill that improves with practice.

02

Warm-up and activation

Gentle joint mobilisation and activation sequences prepare the body for deeper work without forcing cold tissue into end ranges. Nothing is rushed here.

03

Asana practice

The main sequence — standing, balancing, seated, and floor postures — designed for active bodies. Modifications are always available. The sequence changes weekly.

04

Targeted mobility work

Longer holds (2–5 minutes) targeting the hips, thoracic spine, shoulders, and hamstrings — the areas that suffer most in combat sports and desk-bound work.

05

Savasana and integration

The session closes in stillness. Savasana is not optional — it’s where nervous system restoration actually happens. The most important ten minutes of the hour.

Anyone who
trains hard and
ignores recovery.

If you already train in another discipline at EBA, yoga on Saturday morning is the smartest hour you can add. If yoga is your entry point, the Saturday class is accessible from day one.

02

Desk Workers

Office-bound professionals

Hours of sitting compress the spine, shorten the hip flexors, and tighten the thoracic region. One yoga session per week systematically addresses all of this.

03

Stress-Loaded

People carrying chronic stress

Saturday yoga is one hour where the week’s noise is intentionally set aside. The nervous system shift is real. Many members say it’s the most important thing they do all week.

04

Complete Beginners

No yoga experience at all

Every posture is modified for beginners. The only thing that’s required is that you show up and breathe. The teacher handles everything else.
